    Illinois Medical Marijuana Law...

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/l...,1530419.story

I usually have minamul political views but after listening to my normally calm wife go on a rant last night I have to vent.
As some of you know my wife has had Multiple Sclerosis since 1999. She is fortunate that it was found in the early stages and takes medication that kind of keeps the disease at bay.
She has had many conversations in the last 14 years with her neurologist about using marijuana to ease some of the symptoms and he has been an advocate of the medical marijuana laws forever.
Marijuana does ease her symptoms and she has been waiting for Illinois to pass the new laws so she could "medicate" herself in a "legal" fashion.
Well turns out Illinois wants to make it a huge pain in the fucking ass just like everything else that they pass laws on!
My wife is a NRA member and has had her FOID (Firearms Owner Identification) card since she was 20 years old. We both just got done getting signed up for the 16 hours of training required by Illinois to get our conealed carry permits.
Now Illinois says if she is a registered medical marijuana user she can not have a FOID car or a concealed carry permit, what a huge crock of shit!!!

Looks like we are seriously going to start to look at moving south in the next 5 years and get the hell out of the the state called "Chicago"...

I have heard some talk about the the bill coming up here in Tennessee not sure when or if the support will be there for it to pass. Can't own a gun because of your medicine but the bad guys run around with what ever they want and any weapons they want legal or not. It's not like your wife is a repeat violent criminal that keeps getting turned lose because of hardship to hurt who ever they please. This kind of stuff makes me mad.

    I hear you Swiley

She is upset cause she is proud of being able to carry a FOID card for almost 25 years and the ability to finally apply for her CCW permit in the not so great state of Illinois.

So at the same time the not so great state of Illinois also says she can now apply for her medical marijuana permit to help ease some of the effects of a disease that she has been dealing with for almost 15 years.

My wife is not a druggy or a criminal, she uses marijuana maybe once or twice a month on days when the pain in her limbs is almost unbearable and its usually just eases everything enough to let her go to sleep.

But in making 2 rights, the state says she cant have both :!: :?: :!: :?:

As far as gun laws go we have it good here in Tennessee no special licenses needed to exercise your right yo own a firearm our carry permit class is 8 hrs and all common sense stuff. We can even own class 3 stuff if you do the ATF paper work. I believe most of the leadership in Illinois is all controlled by Chicago politics that do not have a clue about real people. I feel the same way about New York State. Come own down south lots of tracks car shows and cruise ins.

We've had MMJ for 3 years, I think. For those who truly need it, I can understand that. Unfortunately, in Colorado, at least, the MMJ laws were nothing more than legalization with a script . . . you don't see "Flomax" or "Prevastatin" or even "Viagra or "Cialis" advertised on the side of a building with a sign bigger than the Denver Bronco's Scoreboard, but with MMJ, just step inside, see our doctor, tell him you're in pain and we'll get you "Bud' . .

Pain isn't one of those things you can prove or disprove. So the whole idea is a scam for those who want to toke up . . and those who really need it get the stigma attached to it . .

But, while you must have a CCW permit to carry concealed, there's (so far) no preconditions on carrying and possessing a MMJ script . . And, the biggest problem with carrying and being stoned is that, probably, by the time you decide to defend yourself you're already dead! Copasetic!

And now, we have, rightchere in Reever City, legalized "Recreational MJ" so you don't even need an excuse to get stoned . . And we got people coming into the state with no jobs, no talent and no money, to partake of the "Legal Bud" . . My bet is that a lot of them are going to try to pay for their dope with my belongings . . That's where MJ and Guns come in . . it won't be pretty . .

I dunno about any "planned deterioration", but the Stoners applied Democracy to Colorado's "Amendment Law" and then they turned out in numbers. People voted for the MJ Law that have never voted before and probably won't ever vote again.

I dunno how or what got the law passed in Washington State, but the fact that they're an overwhelmingly Liberal State probably helped . . and in Washington, they slapped a 75% tax on legal Ganga . . The stoners screamed and then lit up. But Washington isn't having the same "Tourist" problems because of exactly that, the higher prices in Washington . .

We'll have to see how it all shakes out, because we're only a month into the legalization, but if the past is any indicator, stoners, especially the younger ones and the "addicted" (1 out of every 10) make their livings and their dope money by crime.

And whether it's breaking into cars on the street or Robbing banks, it property that someone else owns and they're taking. They (the stoners) use the excuse that anybody with a job and possessions are "Rich' thus shouldn't mind sharing their possessions so that a poor, sober stoner can buy some Bud . .

Basically, if you didn't carry before the legalization, you probably ought to start, because coming home and finding someone in your house or garage can end up with you dead if you aren't prepared to make the other guy that way . . 17 year old kid did that to a man and his wife in Colorado Springs about 6 months ago . . Shot them when they caught him in their house . . ADT called them but didn't call the police . .
