No matter how many 9mm (and other) guns and clips you have, unless you bought before December, you are out of luck.

The government was clashing sabors over the assult gun and magazine bans which diverted our attention and snuck in and took all the ammo out of circulation.

If ammo comes back, will they have a fifty cent per round tax on it?

I heard today that the Canadian Government is putting 'pressure' on CANADIAN gun manufacturers to NOT sell/send firearms across the border. Thier Govmnt cannot MAKE them stop, just 'suggest' it... OUR govmnt wants to 'dry up' the supply of guns and ammo.

I think I brought this up about four-five months ago . . Everyone was worrying about their guns and their magazines and I said then, buy all the ammo you can get, and preferably, buy it from one of the "reloaders" at a gun show or other place.

But on the other hand, I dunno if it's actually the "Guv'mint" doing this or just the hyped up market. Remember, if everyone who uses Gasoline, for some reason, went out this morning and bought a tank full of gasoline, the country would be out of gas before Noon PDT.

A guy at WalMart told me that last year, on average he'd sell about 10-12 boxes of 9 mm ball a month. Now, he'll get about 20 boxes per month and they're gone the morning he puts them on the shelf . .

The Politicians don't, apparently, understand the "Unintended Consequences" of their rhetoric and "politicking" . . Simply because, anytime you speak publicly about anything that would or might become hard to obtain, Murphy's Law will step in and it certainly will. Just because everybody that might want one of whatever it is, will go out and buy one, and generally, pay whatever it costs . .

I see guns for sale today for $800 that you couldn't sell for $300 last July . . Dunno if they're getting that money for them, but that's what they're asking. And don't even think of latching on to an AR style .223 Semi-Auto for less than $1800 . . These things have gone nuts . . . The .308's are bringing $2800-$3800 depending upon make. Totally nuts . .

I think most of it is just "Supply and Demand", although I might backtrack on something I said back aways about justification of the HSA buying a jillion rounds of pistol and rifle ammo. There may be method to their madness. But, because our government works (Questionable description?) kind of sporadically, one doesn't really know whether some dickhead in the HSA suddenly found out that he was gonna come up short and ordered a ten year supply or some other Socialist Dickhead has an agenda. I suppose one should expect the worst and welcome the least . .

And lemme say this about that . .

In our "New" world, don't EVER admit to owning a gun publicly.

For several reasons. There's a lot of ears tuned in to those magic words; "Rifle, Pistol, Gun, Handgun, Firearm, etc." for a lot of reasons.

The first is totally obvious. Thieves. Guns are fungible goods that can be turned into cash quicker than you can print it. Thieves and their buddies hang around Bars, Gun Stores, and other places "Good Ole Boys" hang out and talk. And they listen. And if you're really proud of all those guns y'got and talk about it, sooner or later you're gonna come home and find somebody else has inventoried your belongings and took what's valuable. Nothing like owning a gun you no longer have . . Keep your serial numbers written down and in two different places. A buddy of mine said, "Yeah I keep all my gun's numbers in a "Master List" in my computer. Along with his guns, the computer will go out the door, so that's not good. . Keep a list on a flash drive at your job, or a relative's home. That way if they clean you out, or you have a fire, you've still got your home's inventory.

Been there, done that . . .

The next reason is probably just as obvious. If your neighbors know you have a bunch of guns, and the guys at the bar or Gun Store know this, then the Feds might want to know also. And because we don't have a National Gun registry (yet) they will have to find out who's armed and who's not by heresay . .

Talking about ownership or "Right To Own" is two different things . . . And on the 'Net, everybody's listening . . .

Heh, heh . . Two things y'have to accept. Thieves don't need no stinkin' Search Warrant and the Feds always have one . .

That's the sorry state of things in our world today . . .

By the by, we're starting a Letter/Phone/eMail deal to our Congressmen and Senators asking them why the DHS needs 1.6 billion rounds of Hollow points, 7000 machine guns (M-4A carbines) and 2717 Armored Vehicles for "training Purposes" . . And we'd like a better answer than Janet Napolitano has put out there!

Not that we'll get one, but wotheHell . . . Fire one off and in a week or 10 days we'll compare notes . .
