i want to add a 2" body lift to my truck what do i need
i have a 78 chevy 1/2 ton with a 4" rough country lift. i want to add another 2" with a body lift from jcwhitney. the only thing included is the blocks, bolts etc.... but nothing for my auto column shift rod. will i need to extend it or with it be fine?? input??

You will need to extend the rod, also will probably have to lower the radiator or remove the fan shroud if you still have one on the truck since the body along with the radiator support will move up but the engine stays in place. Also look at all your radiator and heater hoses to make sure they dont stretch or bind when you lift the body. Any electrical wiring will also have to be checked to make sure it doesnt get hung up or stretched when you install the lift kit.

IF you decide to put a body lift on it take to a shop that does lift kits. ITS NOT WORTH DOING YOURSELF! lol
I had them on several trucks and I never liked the look of the frame showing more and never liked the gap between the bumpers and body it created. Also some trucks you have to cut a little of the floor for the 4x4 shifter to work.
