I would suggest 1 7/8" Hooker super comps., they come with stahl adaptorplates (7 bolt conversion) that is what i have on my 377" on alcohol and i also ran them on the 406" before i broke a rod bolt. They work well and are inside the frame on my Malibu, but i did have to install turn outs to keep the fumes out of the car.

Here is why I'm asking.......The exhaust port on my head is .080 wider then the width on the header on all exhaust ports. My question do you think this is hurting performance? This car has run 10.14@131

I would think that it is hurting, i don't know how much, but with the 1 7/8 you're increasing the tube size by .125 plus you have the option of tapering the adaptors to match your cyl. head ports in case they overlap the head ports. I would think any opening smaller than the ex port would cause some turbulance instead of good flow.

That's a fact Jack ! Not only are you pushing through a physically smaller opening but you also add in the 'laminar' layer (although infinitesimal) and the opening gets even smaller. ANY 'edge' will be a larger restriction than it 'looks'. Blending with a shallow taper can reduce that significantly. as per a venturi.
