not even just that but they are using apoxy now on alum shafts instead of tig welding  their is a guy at are track running a big name alum. drive shaft..... he said he waited like 4 months to get it and when he open the box.... he noticed they didnt weld it and was pissed. so he calls the company to bitch and they told him they dont weld them... that they use an apoxy! he was shocked and said i got 1400hp in this car and they guaranteed it will take it all. so he marked a straight yellow line down the whole thing and 3 years later still hasnt moved .....

THey are >>>$! IMO, they are lighter, but the small diameter is so small it doesn't make that much difference and worth the extra cost for the average racer.
I know rotating weight is a big factor, but on most vehicles you could spend that extra money on something that would do more good.
Also the have been known to slip the yokes off. Not a quick fix when you have to send it back to get re epoxyied.
I get my shafts at Master Fab. Their slogan is " We'll give you the shaft".
and boy will they when you pay for them!!
the shaft for the vega from denny's was under $600 and very well built and if i recall... he spins them up to 7k to balance them too. the other company i talked to said they can only do up to 3500 rpm.
