Scam question
I am trying to sell my car and have talked to this guy on the phone. In a email he asked me to send him a copy of the Title of the car, copy of my dl, and current electric or cell phone bill? Has anyone else had this done to them?

Scam
Call him back and ask him for a $500 deposit within 1 week sent in the form of a UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE money order to hold the car till he comes to look at it within 2 weeks. Tell him you will show him what ever he wants to see in person or refund the deposit. Then the balls in his court. If he doesn't trust you enough to do that, then he wouldn't buy the car anyway.

I'd say he's a scammer looking to do some identity theft :!:

The next thing is he will tell you he going on vacation and will send the money and have his associate pick it up.
In the last few years I have went thru 4 or 5 cars a year and cash is king.
Cash at pick up, thats it my way or the highway because at the end of the day you either still have your car or you have cash but your not empty handed.
Im not meeting a person to get personal info or become friends or have a beer with, im buying or selling a car and sometimes 10 words aren't exchanged in the whole face to face transaction.
