which cam to use?

Default which cam to use?

I have 2 cams to choose from. wich one to prefer with 300-400 nitrous shot.

1 cam:
duration @.050 274/284
.726/.736 lift with 1.7 rockers
advertised duration 314/324

2 cam:
duration @.050 284/294
.748/.748 lift with 1.7 rockers

The engine:

Merlin3 540 cid bbc
Eagle crank and H-beam rods
dart pro1 cnc 355 heads
Super Victor Reher Morrisson intake
Race Demon 1250 cc modified dominator carb
Single stage fogger with controller
Crane HI-8 ignition

car weighs 2450 lbs with driver
4link with 32/114/15 tires
PG transmission with 1,69
4.56 gears

Need the lobe centerline & seperation on the cams.

Dang it,oldand tired beat me to it! He's right. The timing of the lobes are paramount on a NOS cam,more so than any other number.

and compression is somewhere between 12.5 and 13

Personally I would go with cam #1. You can always move up as you have the compression ratio to support either cam.

Comp cams suggested this on. I think i will go with my old no 1 cam for this year and next year will order a new one:


Duration @ .050 282/298
Lift with 1. Rockers .806/.758
LSA 114
