SQUARE SLICK
TOP FUEL DRAGSTER WITH GOODYEAR EAGLES. BUT COULD ANYONE TELL ME WHAT CAUSES A DRAGSTER SLICK TO BLOCK OR GO SQUARE ON THE BIG END OF A RUN? THOSE WERE THE TERMS, THAT WAS USED. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU,,,,WILLY,, BC. CANADA.

Higher growth tires, some what look square as they get upto speed, either that or not enough air in them.

He probably talking about the super slow motion camera at the US Nationals.
On top end, if your tire patch is sticking well, the remainder of the tire takes the shortest route to get back in line to become the contact patch, therefore the tire makes 90 turns and becomes square. The pull from the contact point overcomes any centrifical force that keeps the tire round.
P.S. Did any one see the rod cap floating in mid air?
