Chevy in a Mustang not fitting, help.
I am putting a SBC in a 84' Mustang. I have an AJE Racing Crossmember and Dynatech headers made for the swap, but the steering stem is not working. For one I had to extend it, but that was the easy part. The problem I have now is that the top steering stem knuckle is hitting on the back header tube. Can anyone help me with a solution. I am using the AJE SBC motor mounts also.

Yea, I should have known. But again. I got the SBC cheap. I actually got it for some work I did. Plus I had a mustang with no engine. so I put the two together. It is actually turning out very nice, if I can just get the steering shaft to clear. I am going to try to lower it inside the car tomorrow. If I can, that will fix it.

call AJE, I bet the make a custom steering knuckle, also Flaming River makes a nice setup. I had a 460 crammed in a 93 Mustang and the Flaming River knuckle fit like a glove.
