Opens all four barrels at the same time. Not progressively.

Totally depends on the engine configeration, Heads ,cam, exaust, etc. some engines will perform better with 1 to 1, a street engine will not.

Are you talking 1-1 'carb linkage vs pedal action' or 'non progressive vs progressive' carb action ? 'Progressive' is the opening of the primaries to 1/4 throttle then slowly opening the secondaries at the same time as the primaries. 'Non progressive' is all 4 barrels together.
1-1 'carb to pedal' and 'non progressive carb' has serious 'street drivability' issues. Happiest at 1/2 throttle to wide open throttle.
