Default The nephews 1st car

I am very proud of our nephew. We put the money up for him for this project. He has paid almost all of it back from his job. The truck is a 355 roller motor with APD 750 alky carb, vickers glide, abruzzi converter, 4.10 gear and 30x9 tire. This is still on the leaf spring with a 9 inch under it. The kid put it together with some guidance. Best on the truck is 10.72@125mph and has been stuck at 10.75. The 1/8 mile has been 6.80-6.82@99mph with a 1.52 60'. The kid took it 3 rounds in super pro the 1st night out until he ran into a .004 package and he was .014 on the tree. The kid sure paid attention and has made me very proud.

I would really like to try 10.90 with the truck. I wouldn't put the stop on it and let him drive it. I just don't know if there is enough leave there to get out of the beam.

Well done to you both!! Great to see some young blood doing well. Not only that, the time you both spend together makes your success sweeter too. Too many kids are into the WRONG things... happy he is on the right track & making goals.

KUDOS to you two !!
Male kids really NEED a father figure to learn from and look up to. WAAAAAY too many single/double parent families where the father has not remained in the kids' lives in one positive fashion or another.
