Default will a 4.6 mod motor fit in a ford ranger?

I have a 98 4.6 dohc out of a cobra.Does anyone know if it will fit in a ford ranger? If so what would be the best year ranger for fitting issues like the steering box, firewall and any thing else you can think of. Getting alot of different answers! I know its wider and higher than other sbf but I like to build different projects! Any advice would great!

A 632 dry sump motor will fit. You just have to want to make it fit.

This is a pic of a 548 in a Toyota.

632 going in

Go to www.powerblocktv.com , go to the " Trucks " page . They are indeed putting a Cobra engine into a Mazda pickup ( also converting it to a Ranger ) . Should be several episodes on the swap for viewing . Of course , it isn't finished yet as the projects are " slowly " completed ! Not really what I'd call a project for an " average Joe " unless you have LOTS of money , equipment , tools , and experience !

Enough money and time and anything is possible. Headers, motor mounts, crossmember and drive shaft would probably have to be custom made but it would probably haul ass when finished if you can get traction.
