Default need a little advise

i got a 406 sbc putting out 780hp at the flywheel..... my motor has a belt drive now but always like the sound of the noisy gear drives...... anyone ever run one and which is better(do you lose or gain hp with it and which is more durable....ect) thanks, chuck

Don't do it!! Stick with your belt drive. Why go backwards?

Gear drives transfer harmonics from the crank to the cam and valve train and usually require drilling of the front main cap and or machining for fit up to the block as well.

I might suggest that you record the SOUND of some other racers blower during a burn out and put it on your I- pod (or something like that), then listen to it whenever your engine is running if it makes you happier, but if you want to go fast with less moving parts, stay with today's technology and use the belt drive.

I have seen more belt drives, than i have heard gear drives lately, if that helps any.

x2 should not run with cast crank or cast cam.

on the same subject kinda how about gear drive for street car no real high revs maybe once and a while tip to track (street fights)
