Default Will it run on pump gas

I was thinkin about buying a small block engine that is well built, forged everything, no corners were cut. This engine is a 13.1 compression engine. My question is first will it run on 93 octane? Second If it will will it hurt the engine? My plans are to play with it on the street, then occasionally the strip.

A high compression engine requires higher octane fuel to prevent detonation. Detonation is a condition where the fuel air mixture ignites while being compressed before the spark plug fires. Your engine would probably live longer with 110 and you'd enjoy it more.

Do not run that engine on low octane fuel.It will hurt the engine. If it was 11.1 compression it may be okay on 93 octane but i sure wouldn't use it on a 13.1 motor.
