Default Replacing Dipstick Tube

I know this is a really non-exciting question but the fact is I had to remove the old dipstick tube from my sbc, in the car, and now I am having a super hard time putting in a new one. Any secrets and are there different diameter tubes? Thanks.

TRYING SANDING AWAY SOME OF THE METAL AND PUT SOME OIL ON IT WHEN YOU PUT IT BACK IN,ALSO YOU MIGHT HAVE TO TAP IT A LITTLE TO MOVE IT.USE WOOD TO TAP IT IN.

Default dipstick tube

Try tapering the end with a bench grinder, but leave the area under the ring almost full diameter. I found that the open end of a combo wrench works well to tap into the fill hole without distorting the tube. Worked for me. Good Luck. Mike P.
