guess the hp of my new and improved 496 bbc ????????
Hey guys back again, I asked the hp of my previous 496 a couple of months ago and got some great answers. It was not as much as I expected
Well the welds broke off of the pan oil flap and got caught under the pump and lost oil pressure, it hooked a bearing, but I shut it down with mininum damage. Here is the new and improved version of my 496
gm block .060 over
13.4 to 1
dart 345's some bowl work, took .040 off the bottom to bump the compression
full roller (cannot tell it all) but around 725 lift both in and out
283 @ .050 at 110
single 1050 dominator on a port matched 454 intake
What do you think ?
Not dynoed yet , just done so we will find out soon. Going in the end of this week or next should be dynoed by oct 18 th

the type of dyno we wiil be using
The dyno we will be using is a chassis dyno: model/make-
Dyno jet 248 HS
measuring RWHP
and using the 25% rule for calculating motor/flywheel HP

[quote="chevyfireball"]I'm guessing 850-900 hp. I had a 69 Camaro with almost the same set up and a 200 shot of nitrous and it made just on 1100 hp on the dyno.[/quWOW !!!!thats a pile of hp for that setup. Very well could be wrong but but that seems like alot. I have a 565 that pulls 894hp at 6750rpm with a cam that is very similar that was dynoed with a 1150 dominator.
