New to Drag Racing...
Hey my name is Rob and im 21
Im looking for some ideas on what would be a good starter car.
My budget is roughly 20,000 for a car.
Any tips or ideas would greatly be appreciated.

One in my sig(with slips and vids best fo 6.08 bfore the spragless conversion) and and a 24ft enclosed with tool,cabinets eveything to race(generator)(charger). for 20k cash.(NO LESS)
9 seconds car with lots of detail and history.A folder an inch thick with receipts.let me know.Pick it up today race to tomorrow .

For that same 20,000.00 you can buy a dragster and trailer. I prefer cars, but the dragsters are the ultimate drag vehicle.
There are three of us that race together. Dragster, '66 Nova, and I have a '27 roadster. The Nova runs 9.40s, my roadster runs 9.80s, and the dragster when we bought it with an iron headed 468 ran 8.30s. We got the dragster for 15,000.00 complete (Victory slip joint car).
No way to match that E.T. with either of the other cars for that money and you can drive the dragster at the E.T. as easy as can be. Believe me I have driven all three and on a slick track the two short wheelbase cars can be a handful. The dragster just goes on down the track. Just my .02

Been there done that owned 2 dragsters myself.Quick and boring,but consistant .Easy to work on but a pain in the azz to climb in and out of and move around unless you have a crew to help you out(fun to unload also.I've done it by myself and it aint easy,hence the reason I went back to a door car. most GOOD dragsters never get out of control(unless it 1000h.p or more...and I could drive mine with 2 fingers.They are hard to beat but deff can be beat :wink: Gent the owns my vega wagon kicks there azz on a weekly basis.He also owns a dragter but prefers the car. :shock:

If you are completely new to dragracing, I would recommend an 11 sec car. That is fast enough to learn and you can build it up as you acquire more experience. An 11 second car can be a handful when it gets loose and the seat time is what you will need. You will still need a trailer and all the equipment to support a racecar. (Generator, battery charger, fuel cans etc.)
