Default alternator

Hey Gang , I have an alternator that is from a nascar type car ( we think) and was wondering if anybody might know how to hook it up...I assume the battery post goes to the battery but what about the single wire coming from the plug on side??? any help would be much appreciated , Paul[img]

If it we me, I would get the standard GM one wire alternator and be done with it. JMO.

Maniac, I don't know how to wire that thing.......But the wooden stool sure looks familiar. :P

i changed my alt over like that, on my alt that wire went to the post and was tied to wire to batt.
