Default Paying for a car.

Does anyone have any advice for paying for a car? If I am in WV and the car is in WI, what is the best way to pay for the car and assure that the car is there when the hauler pulls up to the curb? What if I send a guy a check for $20K for a car advertised on RJ and then he disappears with the cash and the car? Thx. :?:

X2 with Todd, if i laying out $20,000.00 i'd be the car hauler, even if i had to borrow or rent a trailer to get it home.
