Default Hydro-boost brake system

I am considering using a hydro-boost braking system on my Chevelle instead of the vacuum booster. Has anyone done this conversion on their car and were the results satisfactory? Seems like the way to go on a car with a lumpy cam. :?:

Default too much stuff

I have not worked on one of them systems for some time now, but adding another power steering pump and hydro crap would be very heavy and power consuming on a performance type car in my opinion. If power brakes are important and you have a large area for a canister, you can store vacuum in by using a check valve between the canister and the engine. I believe you can store several brake pedal applications in a large enough area, maybe a gallon or better size container may be required. If you are talking about the chevelle, then you may be able to find the real estate to place the canister somewhere under that hood. I think you are too congested on the front of your engine already, unless you are planning on deleting something else to make room for the hydro pump. what do you think pal?

Hi Bruce, Yes, it is on the Chevelle. The power steering pump on the car is from a truck that used the hydro-boost system. The vacuum booster is already on the car and the Hydro-boooster looks like it would take less space. Been doing a little research and I was hoping to hear from someone that had already tried it and listen to the merit or downside from their experience. Some of the newer units seem pretty small relative to the standard vacuum unit. The braking power should be greater too. Just putting it out there for opinions.
