Default VP Q16 ?

are all the internet post about the Q16 true or bull about the up to 30 Hp gains. in other words has anyone here ever tried it and proved it to be a Plus or no not. I'm running 15.33 to 1 Compression in a 434 with 230 Dart heads and 950 ultra H/P now it's running 670 Hp. I tried the 110 octane Vp oxigenated. and it made no changes. then the man tells me it was because I needed the 116 Octane because of my compression ratio. I'd like to know if anyone has tried it before I go spend $65.00 on fuel that I don't need.
Thanks Andy

Default Q-16

Andy, I sell the VP and my truck dirt racers get more power with Q, I sell it for the same $ as C-16, you probly will have to jet UP 3-4 sizes and It stinks and will eat a fuel system like methonal does so I would clear it out after use. I don't think the 110 is enough for a 15 to 1 motor. Later J.Smith 4621 racing

Cant say about smaller motors, but it did pick up almost 40hp on my 632. And yes, it is nasty smelling and it needs to be run out of the carb and fuel tank drained after every race. And you will need to go up 3, 4 maybe even 5 jet sizes.

hey rabbit, thanks for the info. To me 40 H/P is 40 H/P any way you say it. did you have to move the timing any or did you just jet it up.
Thanks Rabbit, Andy

bbchevy- Mine is also a Shaferhoff but it only has the 23 degree dart 230 heads. besure and let me know how it works Thanks Andy

I didn't change the timing any. I had to change my jets from 95's to 100's. ( use to run C16) I also had to change the air bleeds. It was chocking me to death at idle. 40hp is a bunch, but I'm not kidding Q16 is a NASTY fuel and it stinks like chitte. No more of that "sweet smell of racing gas" if you know what I mean Also I'm not kidding, run the carb empty after every race and drain your fuel tank . I pay $14.66 per gal and I buy it in 15 gal. drums. I was paying $68- ( I think the last 5 gal can I bought was $72) for 5gal cans.
No idea what difference it will make on the track, but all the guys I race against also use Q16.
