454 head choice
i have 454 that i am rebuilding for a 72 chevelle that will be set up mostly for the street but will see the strip some. i am in the planning stages right now and while shopping for parts i came across a set of gm performance heads, part number 12363390. i was wondering if these are a good set for my project. i am planning on boring it at least .30 over maybe .60 and a compression ratio about 10.5. i am not for sure about a cam yet but due to my budget it will probably not be a roller. any suggestions here would be welcome also. i am shoting for 500+ hp. the car currently has a th400 with a 3000 stall. ford nine with two sets of gears 1) 5.00 with a spool (for the strip) 2) 3.50 posi (for the street) thanks for the help.

The 12363390 is an aluminim oval port "Bow Tie Performance" series. 2.25/1.88 valves with 11/32 stem.
Dual springs, 1.514 od, 140# at 1.94, 1.20 solid height, and 368 lbs per inch (same spring used an all 502ZZ engines).
290 intake runner
110 exhaust runner
110 semi open chamber combustion chamber
Great mid range performance.

P.S. Lose the 5.00 gear, it's too much.
