I just put a Quick Fuel 1050 Dominator on my BBC 496.I started it up let it idle up to about 150 degrees and then it seemed to load up and i could not keep it running then quit. I know there is nothing wrong with the motor because I had just taken off my 950 HP and it ran fine.The carb is jetted 88 squared as recomened by the guy i got the carb from.He said he had no problems.The regulator I have set at 7 lbs,same as the 950.Any suggestions..Not to trash Quick Fuel but Ihave had 3 of them in the past and seem to have idle issues with all of them..

I would start by checking the fuel level in the bowls and possibly replace the needle and seat. Just a starting point.

Fuel levels are dead on.I however did not check the needle and seats.

I was running 94 - 96 jets on my 496ci with one 1050 dominator.

You could try lowering your fuel pressure to 6.5 or even 6 psi. It could be just a little to high and leaking by the needle and seats.

Not trashing anyone's product by I had some issues with a QF 1250, sent it to Dan Davinci and it came back perfect right out of the box! The list of parts and things he changed was lengthy, it was well worth the trip! 8) JB
