Default 18 degree v/s 23 degree

Have a set of 18 degree 617sl je pistons, 4.125, 400 inch stroke, 6 inch rod. Some say they will work with 23 degree head. True or False

Not familiar with your pistons. Are they domed? If so, I'm not sure. IF they are flat tops, they should. I have a set of JE flattops in mine, 4.125 bore, 4.00 stroke, 6 inch rods. The pistons are 18 degree. The heads are 23 degree Brodix Track 1's. I didn't make any mods to the valve reliefs for them to work...
