i have a 96 powerstroke automatic,will a 92 powerstroke 5sp 2wd tranny go in?i understand takin the transfer cover plate off of thr 2wd and bolting my transfer case up but im wanting to make shure it will work before i buy it.

I don't think they made a Powerstroke in 1992. Yes some had a turbo...but the Powerstroke didn't come out until late 1993.
