Default BBC race cam question

I been running a 110 base in my 598 stick doorcar @ 2975#s. I see everyone recommending more base like 114 or so. would I see an et difference if I switch or not?

Usually a wider lobe seperation will expand the RPM range by 500 (300 on the bottom, 200 on the top).
You can use a mild spray with 108/110, but any heavy spray needs 114.
$300 risk to find out if it helps an all motor engine.

the cam selection will kinda depend on the head, intake combo. If the heads have very much low lift flow the wider lsa will help more. but it realy depends on the over all combo. a wide lsa might work good in one car but not the next even if it's similar combos. little differances can make cam selection different.

I think the amount of compression has something to do with the decision. Wide lobe centers work better with high compression. JMO I am not a cam guy,I base that statement only on what I've read on SPEEDTALK. M
