Default 427 BBC crank making contact with piston

I am doing rebuild on a friends engine and after removing the oil pan I noticed the #6 piston on the bottom , looks like it was making contact with the crank. It is only on one piston and I thought it was very odd.
The contact is minimal but worrying.
I checked the rod bearing thinking maybe if it was worn out the extra play would make it hit the crank , but it was still in good condition. I also took a good look at the rod pin bearing and it looked fine also.
Anybody ever experiance anything like this before ???
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Al

Is it possible this engine has been rebuilt before and the marks could be from a bearing issue earlier? Did they make mention of any noises to you before you tore it down?
