Carter 850 Thermoquad question
I would like help on info about rebuild parts for a Carter 850 Thermoquad.
The carb ID is 4846S. Really just need to replace the accelerater pump, but rebuild kit part numbers and source would be helpful too.
I believe this is an aftermarket carb and not an OEM application?
It is on a 455 Buick engine now. Worked great before the pump messed up.

Just like a Quadrajet basically, just plastic
That thermo quad is an old chrysler piece that came on the ole trusty 360 4 bbl Cordoba in the mid 70's, say 1976. You should be able to find a kit for it with that info at you local parts store.

I believe they came on more cars than a 76 Cordova
Thermoquads were used as original equipment on mostly Chyrsler products from 1971 to 1985.
A few Lincoln 460 CID engines in 1974 used an electric choke version of the TQ. IHC used TQ's from 1974-1980. Australian Fords also used these carbs in the late 70's and early 80's.
The carb was also produced in aftermarket versions up to 1000 cfm.
Your carb is a aftermarket competetion carb.
I looked and looked for a kit, thinking yours maybe the same as a AFB 900 series 850 cfm carb made by carter, not sure though, dont quote me.
To make sure call Carter......

thermo quad
Any good carb rebuilder will have any parts you need, if you replace the pump make sure you replace the plastic tube from the pump to the squirter. Mopar started using the thermo quad in 1970 on 340's and 440's.
