I went to the Wilkerson Team blog on the NHRA website and all they really talked about was the crash itself and not what caused it. You think if the lugs were loose something would have happened on the burnout or the initial launch but he was truckin when it happened. Snapped axle, broken diff, who knows?

Not Really!
When you have the 5/8 wheel studs. There at Least 1 1/2 or 2"s of Stud hanging Out of the Lugnut. If they were just Hand Tight,it could have taken the B/Out and the Lauch!
Not SURE What there,PROCEDURE is when they Hang New Rubber???

Looks like it broke the center out around the multi-mount stud holes.

Maybe they were over torqued and snapped as the car moved sideways a bit.

Obviously my observation was totally wrong. SHEARED ALL the studs !!
Could tire shake have started that process of parts departing ?

Default Wheels

I Just read that the Reason the the WHEELS Leaving?
Was Because of the Wheel Spacers that were Improperly mounted, that caused the Wheels NOT to be Fully Tightened!!
