Default Turbo 350 trans, forward press in park reverse,123gears?

I just put a new converter in and replaced the shift shaft seal, to remove the seal i took out the shift linkage in the trans. My problem now is when i start the car it wants to move forward in Park, reverse, neutral, and natrually in all forward gears!! Could i have installed the shift linkage incorrectly. any help would be great, Thanks. :?:

Default Linkage

Sounds like the shift linkage needs adjustment.

Sounds like the Manual Valve is not hooked up.

X2
If you drop the pan you will probably find the s link from the manual valve to the rooster comb (detent lever) not in place.

Yes sounds like the clip from the manual linkage to the valve fell off, shaped like a S.
