Default New Pan = other stuff

My Brutheren-

I put in a oversize cast aluminum pan on my TH350 to add 2qts, drain plug, & weld in a sensor for a trans guage... it had a stock pan. To do this, I had to modify & remove some of the edge of the middle of my crossmember on a 69 Camaro. Now I have the x-member out & I am concerned about strength. I am going to have an expert weld the x-member due to my expierence level w/ welding (very basic). Has anyone done this? Is there anything special about reinforcing it?? Just want to make sure i do it all right the first time. It is about 500HP, so I don't think it will be a huge deal... what do you think??? Scooter

Unless you really hacked it up I wouldn't sweat it.

That's kinda what I was thinking... I have cut it & exposed some of the edge/front where there is a lip (where two edges come together). Thanks!!
