tuscola motorsports park re-opening???
A friend just called and told me that he talked to the man that is supposed to have bought the old Lena , Ms. dragstrip..This track opened in 1997 and run until 2003 , it never had very good management and all the racers quit going , It is a real nice track and everyone in central Mississippi is hoping it will reopen and be run right so we will have a modern 1/4 mile track to go to. I sure hope this all true and not more rumors..
He says the planned opening date is March 2010.

wow that is good if the news is correct, toyota built a plant here
in tx and they closed Alamo dragway and just tore it down, hoping
one day it would open again but they have since bulldozed the
strip already and made a parking lot, it was open since late 60's
to late 90's, big daddy, snowman, the snake, shirly, and john force
was driving for coke, they were here at one time, hope the strip
opens for you and remains open, nothing better than the smell
of rubber in the air

I have heard so many 'it's going to open' stories on this since it closed that I refuse to get my hopes up any more. I really wish they would as I was there for probably 85% of the races, from the first to the last. IF it is true, the 4:30's are going back in...

Never raced there, drove by once about 8 years ago, guess that was about the time it was going to close. Never heard anything about it since. R.I.P. Alamo
Guess I'm getting old and don't keep up with things anymore.
