Default Oil temp!!!

Built a new 421 sbc. 1/2 hardblocked. Water temp is good but oil temp seems a little hot around 250 to 260 degrees. Is this a result of the hardblock? This is a street motor and i am about to switch to synthetic oil does anyone have a take on this? I am hoping that this is normal. Thanks for any help or input.

x2 on oil cooler.
The oil is pulling the heat away from the bottom of the block that the water was doing before.
