Default Flow

Generally, it flows from the engine thru the thermostat, thru the upper hose and into the top tank of the radiator. Flows down the radiator and dissipates heat thru the fins and to the lower hose where the water pump feeds it into the engine again.

ON SBC WITH HEATER CORE RETURN GOING INTO THE RADIATOR TANK ON PASSENGER SIDE OF CAR , BOTTOM HOSE WILL HEAT UP FIRST. WHEN THERMOSTAT OPENS THE TOP HOSE WILL GET HOT. WATER ENTERS ENGINE WITH THE LOWER HOSE AND RETURNS TO THE RADIATOR THROUGH THE THERMOSTAT AT THE TOP
