why did speed and all these tv companys show these auctions ruined the whole classic car hobby. all these guys with what i refer to as more money than brains spend way too much for these cars and people watch and say hmm i got a muscle car with 10lbs of bondo no seats no drive train its got to be worth 6500 better yet same car ratted out interior non original worn out motor slippin tranny and now its 13000 reason "thats what thyre bringin seen it on tv should be askin more "one just like it brought 50000 on tv"" case in point looked at a buick wild cat fair body and interior sound drive line said a grand (prolly classified as a 50 footer) said give a little time 3 weeks later (after big tv auction) said hey got the money gonna come get it said sure get there and now its 7500 asked what changed watched the aucrion sould be askin more he still has car :evil: [/b]

I can;t agree with you guys more!Since those auctions came on,Iam seeing people trying to sell 4 door sedans with 6 cylinders for the price of what a musclecar was selling for used just a few years ago.The realistic prices are a thing of the passt.FISHMANJOE

wonder how much I can get for my 94 v-6 Firebird with 237,000 miles on it? Just changed the oil and a ignition coil, should up the value some.

we buy old cars/ seen a really eat up 59 2dr chevy no glass no part on that car that wasnt eat up with rust. no floors no interior nothing even the frame was rusted thru in one spot. sign on car deal 2500.00

i remember about 6 years ago being able to by fairly straight running driving cars for 900-1500 now the same cars you would have to ad an extra 0 to those prices hell my third car was a 74 chevelle needed fender and paint only payed 150 bucks seen one all clapped out for 3000 and it has no drive train second car was 73 monte carlo needed paint 100 now the get 3-4k for thrashed ones just dont get it

Barret Jackson has done more harm to the "average Joe" than they will ever know. They don't care, they are raking in the money on the sell and buy side.
