Memphis to host $125,000 Mid South Bracket Nationals
MEMPHIS – Ready for some high-dollar fireworks on the drag strip this summer? TRW Motorsports is bringing the inaugural ‘Mid South Bracket Nationals’ to Memphis Motorsports Park on July 3-5.
With over $125,000 in total prize money up for grabs, the event is expected to draw bracket racers from all over the country. The event features a $20,000 payout to win the main event each day – one on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Toss in a $10,000 to win the Super Pro Gamblers race on Friday and an identical $10,000 to win the Footbrake Gambler’s race on Sunday, and one lucky driver could walk away with a huge $80,000 weekend.
The wild 3-second, 180-mph+ winged warriors of Pro Modified will round out the weekend with a Super Saturday Night Shootout.
Former bracket racer and freelance racing journalist Glynn Williford is the President of TRW Motorsports, promoter of the Mid South Bracket Nationals, and the track announcer at the drag strip at Memphis Motorsports Park.
“When I saw there were no big-money events anywhere in the country on the summer’s number-one holiday weekend, I knew we had to do something for the racers,” Williford explained. “The track happened to have the date open, and the rest is history.”
The racer entry fee is only $675 for all three main events if drivers pre-enter prior to June 26. Flyers and printable entry form can be found at www.midsouthbracketnationals.com
Drivers can secure their entry – either online or by fax or mail – with a $250 deposit. And all drivers that pre-enter the event will be eligible for two drawings of $1,000 in cash.
Drivers can also purchase a racer entry for only $25 to the track’s Test-and-Tune session on the Thursday evening prior to the Mid South Bracket Nationals, which begin on Friday at 9:00 a.m.
