Default HP loss...

What is the percentage of horsepower loss through drivetrain? Is it 10 or 15% I've seen it posted some where before just can't remember. My setup is a 540BBC, turbo 400, Dana 60 4.56 gears, 16.5x33 tires. Just trying to get an idea what it's making for power. Thanks guys.

A buddy of mine ran his Chevelle on a chassis dyno when he bought a RM 522, the same one I have now. It dyno'd a 839hp corrected from RM. On the chassis dyno, with 4.88's, pg, and 14x32's, the best was 620hp corrected at the wheels. I'm sure, as with engine dyno's, those number can vary a bunch depending on the operator.....we were both a little disappointed...... until we went to the track!

I 've heard anything from 15 - 25%. I reckon it depends on the dyno operator too! He's usually the one tuning the car and if he can't get more power out of it.... well ya know ya lose 50% thru the drive train...lol!
