incorrect timing slips
any good stories on incorrect timing slips??? I was bracket racing about 10 years ago at the old lena , ms. track,,in the secound round my apponents win light came on , when I got my slip it read that I had a 1/4 mile speed of 285MPH  with a 9.92 ET....well I figured what the hell , so I went to the official at the line to protest the outcome and he said "you lost"...then I showed him the slip and said , "no way I lost , look how fast I was going" believe it or not he put me back in the race I believe I wound up with runner up..any more good ones :?: :?:

At Carolina Dragstrip they had a tie. I think it was one of the only ones ever.

Not an incorrect one but s timeslip story...a buddy of mine a few years ago at Tere Haute... had a perfect light, dead on with a zero...perfect run...They asked if they could hang on to the slip for some dumb reason...they ended up losing it. Maybe not a big deal but he wanted to hang on to it for keep sake.

I only have 0ne in my lifetime, and it was at the AZ. Nationals in 1990. I was running S/ST 11.03 corrected factor for 10.90. I had the throttle stop set, but not sure where it would go since i had only one pass before the elim. We came off dead even, and my motor died (throtle stop), came back on about 2/3's track. He backed off because i was no where in close. I came on like gang busters, and ran 11.31000. I kid you not we both ran 11.31000, but he got the win light. I guess a 1/2 lb of air in my front tires would have changed that. The anouncer talked about thatt all day because i was a local. I still have that ticket somewhere, although i'm not proud of it. NHRA said it was the closest race in the history of NHRA. I didn't care because i got the lose light, but you can guess after 19 yrs. it will never happen again, i'll be petal to the metal
If anyone doubts this you can research it at NHRA.
