I have ran it both ways on alky, The main thing I try to watch is the amount of vacuum I am pulling I try ti keep it between 4-6 lbs

When I do run a single line I always run it on the opposite side of the vacuum pump. Don't know why, I just always have done it that way. Anyone have any additional comments on that?

You can do it and wont hurt anything but no need if you have a tight sealed motor its going to pull plenty from one side. I pull more vacuum them mentioned above I want 6-8 at idle.
