Default Gears

I set my car up with 4.30 gears so I could run 1/4 mile but everyone is going to 1/8th so I want to change gears and I only want to do it once. The car weighs 2500 w/o driver. BBC, glide, 4400 convertor,32 x 14.5 slicks running on motor but I do plan on spraying at a later date. I know all cars are going to be a little different in what they like but just wanted some opinions. I can shift at 6400 and cross the line close to 5200 now but may change my shift point up after tuning and seeing where it likes to be shifted at. I only have 8 passes so far so have not set in stone where I will shift. I know it will be between 6400 and 7000. Any opinions would be appreciated.

While each combo is different, I changed from 4:30's to 5:14's and the 60 ft difference was .02...

I have a 540 in a 3100lb car with a glide, 8 inch converter, 32 x14's with 5.14 gears I am just under 7000 in the eighth...

You need to gear it to where it keeps it in the rpm range that your combonation makes the best power IN MY OPINION
