Default BBC Block Heaters

Looking to put two "freeze plug heaters" in my BBC this winter. There only $27 in Jegs, and it says that one heater on each side will warm the water temp to 110 degrees.

Has anyone had experience with these heaters? You just plug them into a 110V cord I believe. Do they really work? Any problems with them?

Thanks,
Derek

They work well and a good investment for them very cold days. sometimes it takes a hour or so to get warm though. But will keep the heat up between rounds.

The main thing to heat up is the oil. You can buy a simple heating pad from Summit. Install an oil heater when you freshen your motor. Running your car just enough to get water temp up is not long enough to get oil temp up. Even in the summer I use mine an hour or so before ever race and I live in the South.
