Up yonder in Alaska where I grew up, we'd use the number of sled dogs we brought in to the iglooto keep us warm to tell how cold it was. 2 dog night, 3DOG NIGHT (sound familiar?) 6 dog night etc. The more dogs, the colder it was.

Yep, just north of minneapolis. and my car hasnt started in the past few days (battery froze and it too damn cold to even work on a car so I have to wait til it gets back up to 0) so I have had to walk 15mins to work instead which is normally a pretty relaxing walk if the temp is between 0 and 30. But the wind chills the past few days have been hovering around -45 and it fucking sucks. Im almost 100 degrees less then your +38

we should be running around in shorts and have the a/c on, good
luck my friend, may your soup be hot to warm the soul

I usually break out the flip flops for the first time of the year once it warms up to 32degrees to help spring come faster

but yea, Ive got two block heaters, an oil pan heater, and a tranny heater plugged into my car to make sure I dont crack anything important during this fridged stuff. I can afford a ballooned battery but not an engine block

its not so bad though, the local liquor shops and bars have tons of cold-weather specials during this time of year.
