Default NOTCHING REAR FRAME IN A G-BODY

HAS ANYONE EVER NOTCHED THE REAR FRAME AND WELDED BACK PLATES SO YOU CAN GET WIDER TIRES ON A G-BODY, IF SO IS IT A GOOD IDEA OR DOES IT WEAKEN THE FRAME TO MUCH?

Notching the rear frame on a g body is done quite a bit. My Cutlass has one. Mine has an added crossmember, crossmember for the coilovers, and the antirollbar in there. No problem with twisting or loss of frame support. Go to maliburacing.com and do a search for frame notching. Lots of info there and pictures.
