Default Which carb to use???

OK guys what i have is a 540 chevy with BB2x heads,Brodix intake,cam 772 int. 765 ex. dur@ 50 285 int. 296 ex., 12.6 comp. It's going in a '65 Nova 2850 lbs turbo 400, 5600 stall, 4.56 gears. I already have a Ken Jones 1050 that worked fine on my 477 or do i need more for this setup?

I think your on the border of going to a 1150 from your 1050. I really think your combo will work well with either. I would keep the carb you have, you might gain a couple of .01s with the 1150 but I think the 1050 will be more consistant.

Frankly I like a bigger carb, but then I ran a 1250 on a 447 SB2, plan to run it on my 461. If your 1050 runs well you won't find a lot of difference, I saw about 20 HP on the dyno between the 1050 and 1250. I wouldn't waste my money on an 1150. You won't see enough difference to be worth it. Unless you plan to put a pair of them on....

If you plan to be @ 131 the first few weekends to test I have a 1150 APD gas carb you can bolt on and try.

Please do not say snow out loud Mike. I still have not had a good enough day (or time on a good day) to fire up my 582. It is sleeting out right now, my timing light is hooked up and she is full of water. Just needs C 15 and decent weather and a minor pre lube. Michigan weather sucks at this time of year. Out track opens April 5 for testing, weather permitting.
