Hey Joe,

Last night I was looking at several 55-57 chev's fore sale (I want a gasser too) & I saw some candidates for well under 10,000. There was a decent 2 lane/blacktop 55 in black w/ radiused 1/4's for sale for 14,900 that looked pretty cool. I saw 2 55's for 7500.00 that looked liked good starting platforms too. They were in the "hot rod/custom" section. Good luck & tell us what you come up with.

Joe,
There is a guy named Matt in Va. that constantly has what I believe to be great prices on some of his roller and t/k shoebox Novas, I do not know a thing about him other than seeing his ads on RJ, he makes honor payments and has been a member for a long time. I couldn't find his ads right now, but keep an eye out, he is around.
BTW, I have a nice '72 Vega that would make a great gasser!!

Later,
Rudy

Default looking for a gasser

HEY RIGS, I went into that section and found a 55 in KY.for $7500,it is ad 1405678 and found a 39 ford coupe in TENN. FOR $10500.am going to make a couple calls Monday AM.Back IN THE 60'S AND 70'S a guy from Wilm. De.ran a C/G anglia on the East coast. He was a national champ a couple yearrs with that little black car.Anyway I was talking to a buuddy of mine today and he told me,this guy ,ROSS DONAVAN , still has that ANGLIA in his garage ,after all these years.I met ROSS in 1970 when I started racing at CECIL COUNTY DRAGWAY.THERE was half dozen of us that all worked at DUPONT CO.We all had just got out of the service from NAM and we had money saved up and the first things we did after getting home was buy a new set of wheels. The bunch of us all had the same corner in the pits every weekend at CECIL COUNTY.ROSS was the old man of the gang ,he ad been racing since the early 60's.Anyway, I am going to contact Ross and see if he will give me and son some pointers on setting this gasser.I will let you guys know how we make out with this upcoming project.FISHMANJOE

Fish,

Yep, I saw that 55 in Ky too. I must have missed the 39 Ford coupe for 10,900... hell any semi-together 39-40 Ford Coupe for that price seems like money in the bank. A 39 Ford Coupe would look awesome as a gasser!! Anyways, good luck & keep us posted...

Hey Rigs,I talked to the guy who owns the 39 ford coupe,[ad 1412725],he is down about 500 miles from us in Bluff City,Tenn. He seemed like a straight up guy,I am going down this weekend to look at it with my son.The owner told me the good and bad points about the car.So if it looks like a good deal ,we are hauling the trailer down with us and bring to the shop.Iwill let you guys knowturns out.FISHMANJOE
