Default Shogun

I have a Shogun water pump on my car. It was rebuilt about 20 passes ago. 4th round Saturday, It quit working. When we took it apart it had spun the center out of the impeller. Luckily Sunday morning another racer had one to get us going.
I emailed Shogun and they were very helpful. I've got a couple of spares on the way. He also said to make sure that there is a ground wire from the pump directly to the battery. It makes the pump draw less amps and runs cooler. He said when the pump gets hot, the heat travels up the shaft and melts the center out of the impeller.

Anyone else have any problems with Shogun pumps?

Yes. We ran into this issue. Make sure the ground is good and the impeller life span will increase but you will probably use 1 or 2 a season depending on how much you race. Good pumps and is worth the little maintance.
