value of a 427 short block

Default value of a 427 short block

needs rebuilding. not cracked , block casting #473478. 4 bolt. i believe it come out of a truck. if ya have any idea what it may be worth let me know thanks

I may be way off but I think 5-6 hundred bucks if it's complete and you know it is good and not been bored already. JMO

that's if it is a 9.8 deck not sure about the truck stuff...again just my opinion. I would give that for a good core if I was in the market for one.

My thinking also, but if it's a steel crank, and out of a truck it's probably a 10.2 blk. If you can lay your finger between the top of the water pump mounting flange and it comes up even with the top of the deck it's a 10.2 blk. if not it's a 9.8 blk. 10.2 is an o'k blk. but cost more too build.BUT i would also be absolutly sure on the bore size that it's a 4.250 bore, because it could be a 366" motor.
