Default how do you wire a starter button

i have a 29 A hot rod with a 283 chevy in it. i am wanting to wire up a starter button like back in the old days. it now has a key switch in it now how can i wire in a starter button with this switch? who makes the best switch? any help would be great thanks bmita

with the Key in the "On" position.

You need to find a power source so you can run powr to the new switch.

You need to find the wire that goes from the keyed switch to the starter,

Cut that wire and wire it into 1 side of your switch, power goes to the other side of the switch. I would suggest putting a fuse in line.

Cole Hearse makes pretty good stuff.

you should be able to turn the key to the "on" position and then press the starter button

A sealed marine push button would be a good idea. You can wire it hot to the battery or if you want the ignition to trigger it run it through a relay. This is the type of switch I suggest.
