Default chassis certification

i'm about done on my chassis.got 3 more bars to install.i have to travel 240 miles to get it done..can i paint my cage before or do i have to wait till after it is done..i'm hopping not to have to mask around certification sticker to paint..doesn't matter how good you are at masking you can still till it has been masked off and painted..i'm going to show car also this is way i'm asking this.

I've had several different cars certified and never had more than greasy spots where they tested for tube thickness. No scratches, scrapes nothin'.....
