May not be the answer you want to hear, but i have a friend who has a S10 with a 383 and 350 trans, 410 gears. drives it everywhere and to the track. It runs 11.60's on motor and with a 150 shot of nitrous it runs 10.80's on drag radials.

Zip.

well doing a tran swap in the truck will only take 2-3 hours but i still have to build the tranny. but i have enough tuff parts to make a nice manual shift th350 but if im going to shell out cash for a manual valvebody i might want to try a tbrake just for the hell of it..
this engine ran a 11.78 in a 77 firebird with th350 and 4.11 but now ive installed 1.6 rockers to get my lift to 585.595 and i bought a motown 220 intake and an electric waterpump..the truck hooks good . i had 1.52 60foot last year with an old 406 combo. more than likely i will throw togeathger a budget th350 and se how long it lasts. ive had good luck with junk th350's.

thanks for the advise

The turbo 350 has a steeper first gear I believe than a glide .That should help 60 ft it . You may have to do a gear change too or as you say your just having fun with it try the trans change. Do the trans brake their FUN!!!!! David

Default Trans?

Get YOUR Wallet out, when you go to Purchase that T/Brake for the 350!!!
Heres My Advise?
1st of all???How tall of a Tire?
If you have less than a 28"Tire,keep the 4.10 and go to the 3-spd.
Bigger Tire(Depending)?
Leave the Glide in,Loosen the Converter, and either the 4.56 or 4.86?
Lots of UNKNOWNS Here?
Hope this Helps?

You will probably find the 350 is slower. Leave the glide in.

thanks
i have a 28/12.50/15 et street .
my thoughts are to try the 4.88 gear and bring her out hard . my convertor is about 4500 but when cruising at 2700 rpm and whack the throttle it flashes to about 48/5000.
.
im not sure on the rule of thumb but i have a 12.5/8 inch long input turbo spline and i was told that that is a 1.82 first gear. the trans is a tci competition built by tci with manual forward pattern. i was told that a 12.5/8 long shaft ment it wasa 1.82.
a th350 has a 2.52 first gear i believe
th400 has a 2.42 .
thanks for the responses
